1. wooden These
mallets are made from wood types such as Ash, Mahogany, and Elm, which are
medium weight for easy handling, and have a powerful sound for single notes.
|
 |
2. ultra staccato (black
felt) This is the same as the wooden mallet, though covered over with one
thin layer of 1mm 100% wool felt (seamlessly sewn). Sounds very articulate
and as they are not too heavy, work well for parts involving fast articulation. |
 |
3. staccato (white felt
- red) Also made from the same handle and core as the wooden mallets, the
staccatos are then covered with one layer of white felt. Perfect for passages
where articulation is required along with a round tone. |
 |
4. l'Histoire du Soldat
Small bass drum mallet (cork core) on one end and a small felt ball on the
other. The handle is quite thin and manageable, and designed to produce
a full sound on a small bass drum. |
 |
5. double ended Designed
for pieces such as Bartok's Sonata for 2 pianos and percussion,
this is the same as the l'histoire mallet except with a bass drum mallet
on each end. |
 |
6. rolling (white felt
- blue) Made with a cork core, and covered with 2 layers of felt.
Turned from medium weight wood for comfortable rolling from soft to loud. |
 |
7. general (white felt
- green) Available with wood or cork core. The generals are turned from
heavier, more exotic wood types, such as Bubinga, Jatoba, Purple Heart and
Zebrano. The cores are covered with 2 layers of felt. |
 |
8. extra large (white felt
- yellow) Extra large handle, extra large cork core, and covered over with
2 layers of felt. An excellent mallet for moments in the repertoire
where tremendous depth of sound is needed. |
